Introduction
Europe and Spain are currently facing a complex geopolitical and geostrategic landscape marked by escalating armed conflicts and increasing instability in regions across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
In this context, the European Union and NATO have launched various initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces in member countries. This objective cannot be achieved without the necessary collaboration of companies from other industrial sectors that have historically not focused their production on the defense sector, primarily due to the need to develop a healthy and technologically sovereign industrial ecosystem.
In this context, the Government of Spain has launched the Industrial and Technological Plan for Security and Defense 2025, with investments in that fiscal year reaching 10.471 billion euros, in addition to funds already committed.
Alongside this Plan, the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, is working to “broaden” the base of industries that include defense and security as part of their operations.
