NZIA Strategic Projects

The Act allows for the establishment of strategic net-zero projects, which are essential for enhancing the resilience, strategic autonomy and competitiveness of the EU’s net-zero industry. Net-zero strategic projects receive additional benefits, such as ‘priority status’ at national level, faster permit granting, specific support on the European Net-Zero Platform (including financial advice) and expedited treatment in judicial and dispute resolution proceedings, in line with national and EU legislation.

Projects for the manufacture of net-zero technologies may apply for this status via a specific application process available on the following website from the end of July 2024.

Once recognised as an NZIA Strategic Project, the project must follow the authorisation process described in the section on the authorisation process, including information on dispute resolution
