Cookies Policy

The Ministry of Industry and Tourism provides information on the use of cookies on its websites.

What are cookies?

Cookies are files that can be downloaded to your computer via websites. They are tools that play an essential role in the provision of numerous information society services. Among other things, they allow a website to store and retrieve information about a user’s or their computer’s browsing habits and, depending on the information obtained, they can be used to recognise the user and improve the service provided.

Types of cookies

Depending on the entity managing the domain from which the cookies are sent and processing the data obtained, two types can be distinguished: first-party cookies and third-party cookies.

There is also a second classification based on the length of time they remain stored in the user’s browser, and they may be session cookies or persistent cookies.

Finally, there is another classification with five types of cookies depending on the purpose for which the data obtained is processed: technical cookies, personalisation cookies, analytics cookies, advertising cookies and behavioural advertising cookies.

For further information on this matter, please consult the Spanish Data Protection Agency’s Guide on the use of cookies.

Cookies used on the website

The cookies currently used on this website, along with their type and function, are listed below:

The Ministry’s website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service developed by Google, which enables the measurement and analysis of website traffic. You will see 4 cookies from this service in your browser. According to the above classification, these are first-party, session and analytics cookies. You can find further information on this and disable the use of these cookies on this page.

Web analytics provides information regarding the number of users accessing the website, the number of page views, the frequency and recurrence of visits, their duration, the browser used, the service provider, the language, the device used, or the city to which your IP address is assigned. This information enables this website to provide a better and more appropriate service.

To ensure anonymity, Google will anonymise your information by truncating the IP address before storing it, so that Google Analytics is not used to track or collect personally identifiable information from site visitors. Google may only disclose the information collected by Google Analytics to third parties where it is legally obliged to do so. In accordance with the Google Analytics Terms of Service, Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

Another cookie that is downloaded is a technical cookie called ASP.NET_SessionId . This cookie stores a unique session identifier, which is used to link the data required to enable the current browsing session.

Finally, a technical cookie called cookies_policy is set; this is a first-party, technical, session cookie. It manages user consent for the use of cookies on the website, with the aim of remembering which users have accepted them and which have not, so that the former are not shown information about this at the top of the page.
