CERSA - Spanish Surety Company. (cersa-sme.es)CERSA, Spanish Surety Company, S.A., is a state-owned commercial company (SME) attached to the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, through the Directorate General for Industrial Strategy and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (DGEIPYME).
Through CERSA, one of Spain’s most established public-private partnership systems for financing is implemented: guarantees for SMEs and the self-employed provided by the Guarantee System.
CERSA provides support through its reinsurance coverage to the Guarantee System in Spain, which is comprised of CERSA, the 18 mutual guarantee companies (SGRs), and SAECA (Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Corporation). The risks assumed by these guarantee companies are backed by the State through CERSA
CERSA was incorporated under Law 1/1994 on the legal framework for mutual guarantee associations and is subject to the supervision and regulation of the Bank of Spain.
